Timeline: The great peace
Over the many seasons of peace the clans began filling their ranks with loners looking for a safe place to call home. But many of them were untrained and breaking the warrior code constantly, and it was beginning rub off on the younger cats sparking worry amongst the older clan born: especially the elders of shadowclan with old tales of darktail and the kin creeping back into their minds.
Despite the growing concern; then leader of shadowclan thornstar simply brushed them of. “If it bothers you all this much then why don’t you just tell them that and quit complaining to me.” with such disrespect from their own leader the elders slinked back to their dens and their worries grew and grew, was this how it's just going to be? Letting our young disregard the code till a rouge and their band teach why we have them? “Perhaps we should take his advice” a gruff senior by the name of frogthoat stood up. “Maybe we should quit complaining and tell them, as their clanmates we can’t keep hiding like kits in a thunderstorm when there’s danger afoot!”
It started out simply, with telling newcomers about the clans past at sunhigh, which the queens took quick notice and placed their kits in with to get themselves to get some free time. This new role slowly but surely spread throughout the clans giving birth to a new tradition that has keep the memories of those long gone alive.
Timeline: New age of prophecy's/The splintering era
First proposed by then emberpaw of thunderclan after news that reedstar of riverclan had forced a Kittypet to swim into shadowclan territory, almost causing them to drown as a "test of willingness". they bought up one of the oldest tales of firestar, how when he was a kittypet he had to prove his worth to thunderclan by fighting a warrior long enough to make them bleed. "At least give them the taste of a honorable warriors life before you corrupt them to become codebreaking cowards like you and riverclan!" hissed emderpaw, inciting the fury of riverclan. Before anything drastic was done the clouds quickly covered the moon, but in the last rays of moonlight emberpaw's tail seemed to glow like that of fire causing thunderclan to change how they welcome outsiders, followed by the other clans in the following moons. (Though windclan would be several seasons late to adopt as thunder/windclan relations were at a all time low during Birchstars reign.)
